Once you have requested a login to the society website, you will receive an email that looks similar to the one below. Note that the special link in this email is time limited and will expire after a certain time. That time may vary depending upon a number of factors but is typically 2 days. This is necessary for security purposes and if you are unable to follow the process within the allocated time, just contact us again and a new link will be issued.
When you receive the email, click on the link, (the blue complete account setup button in the email as shown above) and you should see a dialog box like the one below.
Now press the blue ‘Click here to proceed link’, as shown in the image on the left.
That should open a dialog like the one shown below. You must now create a password.
3.2. Password Rules
Our password rules are quite strict because a large number of attempts to hack into our website are made every single day. Who knows why? There is nothing valuable there.
Anyway, the single most important factor in a secure password is length. In our case the minimum is 16 characters. Moreover, your password must contain at least one digit, one uppercase character and one lowercase character.
This is much easier than most people think. Don’t try to think of a single word, think rather of a memorable phrase. Spaces are allowed as are commas and punctuation and so things like “My 3rd child is called Archibald” is a valid password.
You can ignore the ‘sign out from other devices check box‘ because it has no effect on your initial setup since you cannot be signed in anywhere else.
Click the blue submit button.
After you have chosen a suitable password and clicked submit, you should see the message on the left if everything has been accepted by the system.
You are now ready to login to mountdandenonghistory.org.au using your username which can find in the email that you received together with the password that you just created.
Once you click on the login link in the website you will see a dailog like the one on the right.
